Artist Statement

In my artwork for this first assignment, 
I want to represent a girl who was actually walking alone with her handbag on the road. 
She died after her bag was grabbed by a motorcycle-riding snatcher. 

color pigment 

I choose white,black,blue,peach and chocolate.

Black and white is to represent the road.

Peach is to represent her body.

Chocolate is to represent the bag.

Red is for her background.

The reason why I choose red for the background is because for me, red symbolizes death and murder.

I want my viewers to feel despicable to this theft because it is so mean.
 This cases nowadays are too common in our country. The only thing that we can do is pray to God for our safety.

 This can happen anywhere, pls alert your loved ones... Be careful.. Holding tight also useless. Need to wear helmet when walking on the road. Problem. Dear All, This is what happened on Friday afternoon, when this girl was crossing the road to work as a part time salesgirl after school. While crossing the road a motorbike came from behind and the pillion use a helmet and hit on the head while the motorbike was moving. The girl died on the spot. She just only 18 years old. Always be alert and for the ladies ,your handbag and your head. Take care. 

SNATCH thieves lurking on the streets are no longer only eyeing pedestrians and have taken to pouncing on motorists, especially women.

Of late, several cases of women drivers falling prey to snatch thefts even in their own cars have been brought to the attention of StarMetro. Word has also been going around among offices and communities, while emails and social networking sites are helping the news spread like wildfire.

The culprits, usually a motorcyclist and a pillion rider, tail the driver and smash the car window to snatch items placed inside the car. The attacks are usually launched when the car is stationary by the road side or at traffic light junctions.

Third week (22/06/2011)

Second week(15/06/2011)

• So, I finally present my work.
• This is what I express in a piece of paper :

• I choose apple tree. For me, the picture above represents a calm emotion. Everytime I look at birds and trees, I feel calm. Even if I eat apple, I feel calm too even though I am not really in a good mood. Apple really does change my mood.

First Week (8/06/2011)

• We had been introduced about what is really media art.
• First class and also our first presentation where we were divided into groups randomly about our chosen color.
• Assignment given : we must describe an emotion in a piece of paper and present it by next week.
